Typical Restorations
There is no such thing as a typical restoration as every car has it's own personal history derived from the manufacturing process, maintenance and repairs over the years and goals of the customer.
The first thing to do is to carefully evaluate the car for signs of wear and tear, damage and non originality. Each issues that arise are docuemnted and photographed and forms part of the estimation collated by Parry Chana.
After this preliminary investigation the car is completely dis-assembled and further notes and photograps taken. All major components are removed: engine, front / rear axles, transmission, wiring, interior seats carpets, door panels, soft top, dash gages and switches, headlamps, chrome bumpers and extrior trim pieces etc.
The body shell can now be put to the hands of the expert panel beater for repairs to the outer panels and chassis. All outer panels and chrome fittings are trial fitted to ensure accurate results. The final paint in its colour coats can continue once the fit including outer panels are perfect.
Concurrent to this all mechanical parts are refurbished and married to the painted body together with new wiring loom and complete upholstered seats and panels.
Finally the car is road tested and any squeaks, rattles or other issues are addressed before delivery to the customer. Each full restoration comes with a hardback 'Portfolio of Restoration' wich details the restoration and photographic record. This helps to enhance the history of your Classic Mercedes Benz.
