We are available to look after the maintenance and service of your Mercedes Benz on a fixed fee basis. Typical service examples for a 190sl:
Lubrication Service
- Engine oil and filter change
- Check and correct engine compartment fluid levels
- Check condition and tension of V-belt
- Check transmission fluid level
- Check rear axle fluid level
- Check brakes
- Check suspension
- Grease suspension lubricating nipples
- Inspect tyres for wear and damage
- Check and correct tyre inflation pressure
- Verify proper operation of lights, horn and wiper / washer system
- Recommended at 3,000 mile interval
Maintentance Service
- Lubrication service as detailed above
- Adjust engine valve clearance
- Check Solex PHH 44 carburetor flange nuts for tightness
- Check carburetor / air plenum chamber strut for tightness
- Clean air filter element and drench in engine oil
- Clean insect screen on front ventilation ducts
- Clean spark plugs and adjust electrodes (replace if necessary)
- Check / clean distributor breaker points, cap and rotor (replace if necessary) and adjust contact gap (grease cam and oil felt in cam and refill oiler)
- Adjust ignition timing
- Adjust Solex PHH 44 carburetors at engine idle speed
- Adjust clutch free travel
- Remove wheels and brake drums and check / clean shoes and check drums and dust caps of brake cylinders; check wheel brake cylinders for leaks
- Re-adjust hand brake; replace wheels
- Check for tightness of engine, engine oil lines, steering, transmission, and rear axle
- Recommended at 6,000 mile interval
Brake Fluid Flush
- Completely evacuate old brake fluid from reservior
- Refill system with fresh fluid and pressure-bleed lines, ATE T50 booster, rear junction point and wheel cylinders
- Recommended every year
Transmission Service
- Drain all old fluid from transmission while it is still hot
- Inspect old fluid condition before disposal
- Refill with Mercedes-Benz approved automatic fluid
- Recommended after every 12,000 mile interval
Differential Service
- Drain all old fluid from rear axle housing while it is still hot
- Inspect old fluid condition before disposal
- Refill with Mercedes-Benz approved fluid
- Recommended after every 12,000 mile interval
